OPSC replaced the electric pump with a new aerodynamic concentrate pump in 2022. The machine pumps the steam condensate back to the condensate system for reuse. While the replacement reduces both wastewater and water consumption, the thermal energy is captured and utilized during the process to reduce electricity consumption. The NT$1.16 million investment reduces annual water consumption by 32,000 kiloliters and electricity consumption by 24,000 kWh, which equate to NT$850,000 in annual savings.
