Far Eastern New Century Corporation, as the first domestic private enterprise, issues the sustainability bond
The sustainability bond of Far Eastern New Century Corporation is listing on the TPEx on December 21, 2020. It is the first sustainability bond issued by domestic private enterprise.
According to the TPEx, the issue amount of the sustainability bond is 3.8 billion NTD, with a 5-year maturity and a fixed interest rate of 0.54%. CTBC Bank is the underwriter. The framework was verified by Ernst & Young. The funds raised from the sustainability bond will be used in both green project and social project. The green project is about the waste recycling or reuse and the social project is focus on the socioeconomic advancement and empowerment.
Since the sustainability bond market was established on October 2020, the total issue amount has reached 5.8 billion NTD, showing that domestic private enterprises, financial institutions or investment institutions joined the sustainable bond market under the trend of ESG. The investors can also support environment and corporate social responsibility by investing in sustainable bond market.
