Taiwan Textile Industry Sustainable Development Promotion Association is established
Today, a group called "Taiwan Textile Industry Sustainable Development Promotion Association" had its founding and first member meeting. This group was formed by the transformation of the "Taiwan Circular Textile Alliance" promoted by the Textile Research Institute and the Textile Development Association. The Minister of Economic Affairs, Wang Mei-Hua, the Chairman of the organizing committee, Shi Yan-Xiang, and the Chairman of Far Eastern Group, Douglas Tong Hsu, attended the event. Hsu mentioned in his speech that his foreign friends praised Taiwan's effort in promoting sustainable development in the textile industry, saying that the Administration is very capable and forward-thinking. He also talked about the advancements in textile technology, emphasizing the importance of clothes being both fashionable and functional. He mentioned that stretchy and odor-resistant fabrics are comfortable and convenient for wearers. Hsu jokingly said that he now looks at what others are wearing to see if they are ahead of the fashion trend.
