FENC Secures First Prize in the "Low Carbon Operations" Category for the Third Time, Leading Taiwan with the Highest Cumulative Award Count
Far Eastern New Century Corporation (FENC) was awarded the first prize in the outstanding project "low carbon operations" category at the 2026 22nd Global Views ESG Corporate Sustainability Awards. Winning this prize for the third time since the category's inception, FENC is the enterprise with the most "first prizes" in this category in Taiwan, demonstrating its enduring commitment and leading position in the low carbon transition.

In terms of emissions management, FENC aims to maximize energy value and achieve net zero emission, setting short-, medium-, and long-term targets: a 30% reduction by 2025, a 50% reduction by 2030, and net zero emission by 2050. Through production process optimization, equipment upgrades, and energy management, integrated with AI technology to improve resource efficiency, while actively developing renewable energy, the Company reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 40% as of the end of 2025 compared to the 2020 baseline year, exceeding its target schedule.
Regarding green materials, transitioning from waste recycling to carbon-fixing material R&D, FENC not only converts waste PET bottles, textiles, and electronic products into sustainable materials but also pioneered the "AirTek PU" carbon capture and utilization technology globally. This breakthrough overcomes the bottlenecks of traditional polyurethane (PU) manufacturing by transforming industrial captured CO2 into raw materials for high-performance elastomers, realizing the goal of carbon capture and utilization, and making FENC the first Asian enterprise to win the German "Innovation Award for CO2 Utilization.
In 2025, FENC's green products revenue hit a record high of NT$50.6 billion, accounting for over 40% of its production business revenue. As a global leader in the recycled PET resin industry, FENC continues to drive "mono-material circular design" to resolve the recycling challenges of traditional shoe materials and textiles. Simultaneously, it actively implements recycled product management, becoming the first company in Taiwan to obtain the EN15343 recycled plastic content certification and RecyClass Recycling Process certification, as well as the Japan JCII recycled PET (rPET) food packaging certification, assisting global clients in enhancing their sustainable competitiveness.
FENC not only views the low carbon transition as corporate environmental accountability but also integrates it into its core business as a driver to bolster revenue growth and fortify global competitiveness. By continually expanding renewable production capacity worldwide, FENC is navigating the industry toward a net zero emission future.
