Promoting T2T Footwear Materials Through Partnership with Freudenberg Performance Materials

Textile-to-textile (T2T) recycling has become a sustainable goal among brand customers, and FENC is showing support through a collaboration with Freudenberg Performance Materials, which has created a closed-loop system of waste recycling, remanufacturing and reuse by promoting 100% T2T footwear materials.
This project utilizes post-industrial waste from the manufacturing of shoe uppers and strobel boards at Freudenberg Performance Materials. FENC then leverages its mature mechanical recycling technologies and remanufactures the waste materials into 100% T2T recycled chips to be reprocessed by Freudenberg Performance Materials into footwear materials. Extending beyond the bottle-to-textile model where raw materials are sourced from PET bottles, with textile products as the raw material, the T2T model is the true embodiment of textile circularity.
To help brand customers position T2T materials and establish footwear circularity, FENC has deepened its ties with partners from multiple disciplines. These partnerships aim to steer the textile and footwear industries away from linear manufacturing towards a T2T circular economy, providing feasible solutions for low-carbon and sustainable footwear.
