Far Eastern Group's new clothing (Vietnam) held a groundbreaking ceremony in 2015 at the North Tongfu Industrial Zone in Tongfu County, Binh Phuc Province, and officially began operations in March 2016. Considering the favorable transportation location, labor force structure, and government support policies in the local area, the company chose to rent 10 hectares of land to establish a factory. At the beginning of the project, it employed 800 employees and aimed to set up 52 production lines. By the end of the same year, the number of employees had increased to 2500, demonstrating the potential for rapid growth.
With the increasing market demand, Far Eastern Group's new clothing (Vietnam) continues to expand its production capacity. In 2017, it added a new printing and embroidery factory with an annual production capacity of 14 million pieces; In 2019, the 5th workshop was established and 24 sewing production lines were added. The completion of the second factory building in 2024 marks the arrival of the next growth stage.
At the same time, Far Eastern Group New Apparel (Vietnam) also attaches great importance to the union system and employee rights. In 2016, a union organization was established to actively promote labor management communication and workplace friendly policies. Regular sports events, festivals, and symposiums are held to create a respectful, inclusive, and cohesive working environment.
Sustainable manufacturing towards the vision of net zero emissions
As a responsible corporate citizen, Far Eastern Group New Apparel (Vietnam) deeply recognizes that environmental protection and corporate sustainability development are inseparable. Since 2020, we have actively implemented a green transformation strategy with the goal of achieving a 50% reduction in carbon emissions between 2026 and 2030, and achieving 'net zero emissions' by 2050.
Solar power generation is one of the core actions of Far Eastern Group's new sustainable strategy for Vietnam. In June 2022, the first phase of the solar project was launched with a total installed capacity of 432 kilowatts, and it was officially connected to the grid in January 2023. As of September 2024, over 1035000 kilowatt hours of electricity have been produced, accounting for approximately 9% of the total electricity consumption of the factory, successfully reducing carbon emissions by over 700 metric tons.
To accelerate the promotion of green energy applications, the company will complete the second phase of solar energy system construction by the end of 2024, with an additional installed capacity of 810 kilowatts and a total capacity exceeding 1.2 megawatts. In the future, we will continue to increase the construction of solar energy systems in response to production capacity demand, which not only reduces the dependence of our production lines on traditional energy, but also demonstrates Far Eastern Group's determination and action to implement ESG commitments in Vietnam.
